Look out - it's a Metaluna Mu-tant!

Still one of my favourite movies, even though I can never watch it in the same way since Mystery Science Theatre did a number on it (Heil Hitler!...) but as I type this I am looking at the Metaluna Mutant action figure above my desk and can't shake the feeling that he was one of Universal's very best monsters, and always reckon Tim Burton had him in mind on the day he thunk up old Edward Scissorhands. Sadly, I never got around to adding him to this - which I did for a laugh one afternoon.

About Me

lordwilyarm
I'm a freelance commercial artist/illustrator,working from home. I'm married with a houseful of kids, dogs,a cat and some ducks. I like old movies, old comics and putting pencil to paper to draw stuff. I consider myself lucky, therefore, to have found something I can actually do quite well that people have been prepared to pay good money for since 1978. No early retirement for me, though - with the aforementioned commitments, I need to keep working, which is fortunate as I love my job. To that end, I try to keep my outlook fresh and my frames of reference up-to-the-minute, otherwise the artwork can start to look very old-fashioned indeed. And everyone else notices before you do - I've seen it happen. Talking of past your best - there's this wrinkled old goon who looks out at me from the mirror some days, and I'm not sure exactly who he is - but as long as he still has all his own teeth, I'll keep nodding indulgently at the old wazzuck. Once they're gone he's on his own...
